For a foraging idea put mix into a brown paper bag and use leather or bird safe item to tie up the bag in the cage and let the fun begin. See pictures below.
Drying Pine ConesGather pine cones where you're absolutely sure no pesticides have been sprayed or used!! Make sure they are in good condition: not wet, old, or mildewed. Wash well with soap and hot water. Rinse well. Place in a warm oven (225-250) for approximately 2 hours to dry out. Pine cones will scorch and possibly start a fire if the oven is higher than 250. After drying can give to your bird plain or add peanut butter and add your favorite seed or pellets.ICE CREAM TREATMix up your favorite bread recipe. (special tip use unsweeten applesauce in place of the oil). Put batter in ice cream cones and only fill 2/3 the way. You can cut your ice cream cone box with six holes and put the filled cones in the holes. Then place the box with cones in the microwave on high for approx 2 to 2 and half minutes. Let cones cool. (special tip don't try to cool on paper towel or it will stick to it)
